Reflective Teaching

     Today was great at preschool. I will use my preschool 1 pupils to talk about in the blog. This is a group with 27 kids who are three years old or are about to turn three. In spite of the group have many students, they are very attentive and always show interest for the class. They enjoy and they like to participate.       In this group, besides the Christmas vocabulary, I introduced a new word, a new shape's name: the square. At the beginnig of the class, I showed the kids the circle shape just to check if they remember the name because they already made an activity with the circle shape.      This was a great day at preschool. Today is the day students interact with the ipads. One day of the week, they can interact with technology. English class is connected to the computing class and they can combine their learning with the use of technology, reinforcing and practicing the information they are acquiring in their English class.      Some of my work partners ask me sometimes: Do the students understand this? But they can clearly see that they follow instructions. It makes me think of another question: Are my instructions clear and understood? And sometimes, few of my students are not able to follow the instructions, but they ask if they have doubts or some of their partners tells them what they´re supposed to do.       Sometimes, I think: Is this too difficult for the students?      To become a reflective practitioners,  we must start analysing from the very beginnig why are we teaching the lessons we chose to include in the lesson plan or if the steps or techniques that we are using as teaching strategies are the adecuate ones.           Because of the comming hollydays, in the place I work, we have a Christmas Festival programmed and I included in my lesson planning the vocabulary of the Christmas season and also the vocabulary of some Christmas chants for the different group ages.
